                       Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, the world’s most popular organized teahouse trekking in the Annapurna Region. This trek offers to experience the beautiful sub-tropical valleys, dense forests of rhododendron and icy waterfalls. From every angle during the trek you will enjoy a tantalizing glimpse of Himalayan peaks from Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8,091m.), Mt. Machapurhre (Fish Tail) (6993m), Mt. Tukuche (6920m), Mt. Nilgiri ( 6940m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6441m), Mt. Annapurna South (7219m), Mt. Lamjung Himal (6931m) to some other many smaller peaks during the trip. From Poon Hill (3210m). Also the view of mesmerizing sunrise and Himalayan mountain range early in the morning. This entire trekking area is mainly dominated by the Gurungs and Magars both are ethnic people of Nepal. The main attraction of this trek is viewed by various species of birds, local culture and tradition, subtropical forest, Dense Rhododendron flower and many more.

                   Ghandruk village provides to insight the lifestyles of Gurung ethnic community of Nepal. Also to see the neat slate-roofed houses are clustered on the canyon wall amidst a complicated network of farming terraces, great views of the Himalayas that includes Macchapuchre (Fishtail) and Annapurna South. From Pokhara, 42 km drive and 5–6 hours in walking distance. Pothana is another popular village where you will encounter the same ethnic community as in the Ghandruk village. This village is situated on the ridge of the hill from where you can enjoy the spectacular view of Annapurna Himalayan range, Fishtail and green valley of Pokhara.

                     The itinerary of Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek can be made shorter without visiting Ghandruk village. Those who have longer holiday can hike through Ghandruk and end the trip in PokharaDespite the choices of routes you can enjoy the best panoramic Mountain View, experience Gurung culture, and lifestyle and make a circuit. Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu.
  • Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing
  • Day 03: Drive to Pokhara (830m).
  • Day 04: Drive to Naya Pul (1070m) and trek Naya Pul to Tikhe Dhunga (1540m).
  • Day 05: Trek Tikhe Dhunga to Ghorepani (2750m).
  • Day 06: Climb Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3210m) for sunrise view and Annapurna Himal
  • Day 07: Trek Tadapani to Ghandruk village (1940m).
  • Day 08: Trek Ghandruk village to Jhinu Danda (1780m) & relax in Natural Hot Spring
  • Day 09: Trek Jhinu Danda to Pothana (1900m)
  • Day 10: Trek Pothana to Phedi (1130m) via Dhampus (1650m) and drive to Pokhara
  • Day 11: Pokhara City Sightseeing

Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu.

                   Our tour guide or any representative team from Great Vision Trek and Expedition will pick you up and drop to your hotel. You have to book a hotel before your arrival.

Day 02: Kathmandu  Sightseeing

        For sightseeing we guide you to UNESCO world heritage site includes the Pashupatinath temple, Buddhist holy pilgrimage (Buddha and Shyambhu), Kathmandu durbar square, Bhaktapur Durbar square and Patan Durbar square. After took we drop you back to your hotel room through our private vehicle.

 

 Day 03: Drive to Pokhara (830m.)

           Next morning, we prepare for a ride to Pokhara. You can also take flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara as per you want. Flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara is about 30 minutes. You can view outstanding views of snowy peaks during the flight.

Day 04: Drive to Naya Pul (1070m.) and trek Naya Pul to Tikhe Dhunga (1540m.)

          We drive to Naya Pul via Pokhara which is about 2 hours drive. After reaching Naya pul, we start our trail through the south bank of Modi River that takes us to Birethanti. The trail begins to Bhurungdi Khola, Lamdawali, Hile, and Sudame. During the trail, we come across a few waterfalls and enjoy the nature. After reaching Tikhe Dhunga which takes about 2 hours walk. We spent our night in a lodge there.

Day 05: Trekking from Tikhe Dhunga to Ghorepani (2750m.)

After early breakfast, our trail begins climbing a tough uphill which has more than 3000 stone steps. Climbing uphill we reach to Ulleri. After we pass Banthani and Nangge Thanti through the Rhododendron and Oak forest, we finally reach our today’s destination, Ghorepani which takes about 5 to 6 hours walk. It is the gateway to Poon Hill where we have the best view of sunrise and we stay our night in Lodge here.

Day 06: Climb Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3210m.) for sunrise view and Annapurna Himal

We wake up early this day so that we can view the first sun ray striking the mountains. We climb up the hill to Poon Hill (3193m) where we view the sunrise and take rest in Ghorepani. After the short trek, our trail resumes and we head to the east where we pass across Deurali pass and Ban Thai. We walk through rhododendron forest that leads to Thulo Odar then we steep descent with a short climb, we reach Tadapani where we spent a night in the lodge.

Day 07: Trekking from Tadapani to Ghandruk village (1940m.)

     After Tadapani, we continue our trail towards Ghandruk village where we stay overnight experiencing their culture and great hospitality.

Day 08: Trek Ghandruk village to Jhinu Danda (1780m.) & relax in Natural Hot Spring

Next morning, we begin our trail up to the Kuldighar passing Sinuwa and reach Chhomrong. We walk downhill which is vertical and finally reach Jhinudada. Here we go to the hot spring bathing pool which takes only about 15 to 20 mins from Jhinu where we rest and relax. We will spend the night here.

Day 09: Trek Jhinu Danda to Pothana (1900m.)

Next day we walk through Pothana where we can explore whitewashed stone houses, temples. Annapurna south and Hiun Chuli.

Day 10: Trek Pothana to Phedi (1130m.) via Dhampus (1650m.) and drive to Pokhara

From Pothana trek heads straight uphill climbing Dhampus village. We pass through small greenery forests during the trailhead towards our new challenge. It takes about 3 to 4 hours of walk from Dhampus to Phedi. From Phedi, we drive back to Pokhara.

Day 11: Pokhara City Sightseeing

After we reach Pokhara, we take rest in a hotel and relax. We will have a day to visit and explore this beautiful city. We will visit Phewa lake and go for boating, experience Machhapuchhre near the lake.

Day 12: Drive back to Kathmandu

In the morning which is the day of departure, we have our breakfast in the hotel and drive back to Kathmandu which takes about 6 to 7 hours. After we arrive in Kathmandu, you will be taken to the hotel where you can relax and stay overnight.

Day 13: Day reserved for optional activities

You have a day in Kathmandu. You can go shopping, visit places and have fun and prepare for departure next day.

Day 14: Transfer to international airport for your final departure (Trip ends.)

This is your last day in Kathmandu so you can enjoy your meal, go shopping before the flight. Our representative with driver will take you to the airport for departure.
