Details Itinerary Map Photos Tour Overview Jomsom Muktinath trek is one of the easy and beautiful treks in the Annapurna region. The journey to Jomsom Muktinath kicks off with a one-hour drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and makes the relatively little uphill climb to Tikhedhunga (1540m) and walk to Ghorepani. We wake up early in the morning at Ghorepani and hike to Poon Hill (3210 m), the best viewpoint to see the sunrise. Besides, from Poon Hill, we also enjoy the wonderful view of mountains that include Mt. Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhapure (fishtail), Lamjung Himal and another beautiful peak. From Ghorepani, we trail to Tatopani (Natural hot spring) and take a natural hot spring bath. Next day morning, our walk continues through Ghasa making a steep climb through a forest until we reach Lete. From Lete, our walk continues to the east side of the Kaligandaki river valley and reach Larjung Village for an overnight stay. After breakfast, the trek begins crossing the trail through Tukche village and apple farm projects until arrival at Marpha Village. This village is inhabited by Thakali, one of the ethnic groups of people of the country. Here you will have an opportunity to observe plenty of birds. The trail continues along the Kali Gandaki valley, crosses over a low ridge and finally reaches Jomsom Village. Kali Gandaki Valley is the world’s the deepest gorge and your walking trail emerges into the wide valley of Jomsom. At the lower altitude we find rhododendron forests but at the higher altitude, the landscape is dramatically changed into the arid desert-like plateau similar to Tibet. From Jomsom, walking 3 hours we reach the beautiful Kali Gandaki along Ekley- Bhatti Village. After having a good rest you make an hour long easy walk to Kagbeni, which lies at the bank of 2 rivers. Kagbeni is a motivating inhospitable village settled on the most age recent Trans Himalayan salt trade route to Asian country via higher pony space. Jomsom Muktinath is famous for holy site, The temple of Muktinath (3,800 m) with 108 waterspouts flowing holy water from taps and mysterious natural gas fires that surprises every visitor. This temple is very much sacred to both Hindu and Buddhist Pilgrims coming from different parts of India and Nepal. After visiting Muktinath Temple you will trek back to Jomsom following the same trail enjoying the beauty of the Dhaulagiri Glacier gleaming to the north. On the concluding day of the trek, we take flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. Jomsom Muktinath considered as easy trailing or who do have little time to trek. Itinerary Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu. You have to book a hotel before your arrival. Day 02: Drive Kathmandu to Pokhara, Overnight stay at Lakeside in HotelNext morning, we prepare for a ride to Pokhara. You can also take flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara as per you want. Flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara is about 30 minutes. You can view outstanding views of snowy peaks during the flight. We stay overnight in Pokhara nearby Phewa lake in a hotel. Day 03: Drive Pokhara to Nayapool and Trek to TikhedhungaThis is our first day of the trek. We drive to Naya Pul via Pokhara which is about 2 hours drive. Trailing from Naya Pul along the south bank of Modi river reaching to Birethanti. The trail leads to Bhurungdi Khola, Sudame, pass Lamdawali and Hile. During the trail, we come across a few waterfalls and enjoy the nature. Then we finally reach Tikhe Dhunga which takes about 2 hours walk. We spent our night in a lodge there. Day 04: Trek Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2853 m.)Our trail starts climbing through a long uphill which has more than 3000 stone steps. Climbing uphill we reach to Ulleri. On the way to Banthani and Nangge Thanti, we can see the oak forest, Rhododendron and also trail 5-6 hours trailing to reach Ghorepani. It is the gateway to Poon Hill where we have the best view of sunrise and we stay our night in Lodge here. Day 05: Hike to Poon Hill for Sunrise view, back to lodge for breakfast & trek to Tatopani (1189 m.)We wake up early this day so that we can view the first sun ray striking the mountains. We climb up the hill to Poon Hill (3193m) where we view the sunrise and take rest in Ghorepani. Our trail resumes from the east where we pass across Deurali pass and Ban Thanti. Passing rhododendron forest we can reach Thulo Odar, after reaching tadapani we can spend a night at the lodge. Day 06: Tatopani to Ghasa (1190 m.)Note: Tatopani is a Natural Hot Water Spring, if you wish to dip in this Hot Water Spring, you can take a Bath)From Tatopani, we follow the trail from Kali Gandaki flows under the deep gorge where we experience mountains over 8000m. We continue the trail through Dana to the beautiful waterfall named Rupse Chahara and Kopchepani. Then the trail reaches to Ghasa, a Thakali village which is a paradise for the bird watchers. Day 07: Trek Ghasa to Marpha (2010m.)From Ghasa, we climb up through the forest and reach Lete through Lete Khola. Walking towards the east side of Kaligandaki leads you to Larjung Village. Crossing the trail through Tukche (2590m) and apple farm project (that produces vegetables and apples), we reach to Marpha Village. Day 08: Trek Marpha to Kagbeni (2800m)From Marpha, we walk through valley side crossing over the low ridge to Jomsom village. We cross the Panga Khola leading us to Ekle Bhatti (lonely pub). The climate is windy in Jomsom especially in the afternoon when we walk through the gradual path on Kali Gandaki River bed which takes about 3 hours that leads us to a village named Ekley-Bhatti. We take a rest here for a while and continue the trail to Kagbeni lying at the bank of two rivers. Kagbeni village situated on the main age-old Trans Himalayan salt trade route to Tibet through Upper Mustang area. Day 09: Trek Kagbeni to Muktinath (3800m.)After we reach Kagbeni, we have our permit check. During the trail from Kagbeni to Muktinath, we experience scenic picturesque places where we can stay and have a picture, leading to Khingar at 3200m. Climbing through the desert landscape and market village, we finally reach Muktinath. Day 10: Trek Muktinath to Jomsom (2710m.)Muktinath is one of the popular and important destinations for tourist and Hindu pilgrimage respectively. It holds the importance of both Buddhist and Hindus. The morning will be the site visit to Muktinath Temple of Lord Vishnu. It is a Muktikhsetra or we can say liberation or salvation region for Hindus. We can experience water spouts channeled for the stream running above temples, monastery nearby, enjoy beautiful Dhaulagiri peak, etc. Day 11: Fly Jomsom to Pokhara and same day Pokhara sightseeingAfter having a beautiful journey to Muktinath we head back to Jomsom. From Jomsom, we take a flight to Pokhara. We will have a day here so we can visit places, go shopping as per your wish. Day 12: Drive back to KathmanduIn the morning which is the day of departure, we have our breakfast in the hotel and drive back to Kathmandu which takes about 6 to 7 hours. After we arrive in Kathmandu, you will be taken to the hotel where you can relax and stay overnight. Day 13: Final departure.This is your last day in Kathmandu so you can enjoy your meal, go shopping before the flight. Our representative with driver will take you to the airport for departure
